OOOOOMMMMGGGGGGG I HAVE OFFICIALLY ARRIVED!!!!! I was spoofed on the latest episode of "The Soup" on E! thanks to my recent visit to the Colburn School of Music in Downtown LA. Who knew that my plans for a high-brow excursion to this renowned institution would end up as fodder for one of my favorite shows of all time??!!

Looking for a cool bar where you can have ridiculously good food? I found just the place. It's the Corner Door on Washington Boulevard in Culver City, which is really the new Restaurant Row thanks to this place along with Waterloo & City and A-Frame. (Although admittedly W&C is kinda hit and miss.) I wasn't expecting too much when I first decided to check it out because, let's be honest, the Corner Door sounds like just another gastropub. But I have no problem admitting I was wrong. This place rocks!

So you love oysters and lobster, but aren't such a fan of how much these tasty morsels from the sea usually cost, right? (Especially on the Westside.) Well, good news is here. The Hungry Cat, one of the best places for sustainable seafood in LA, is now offering Half-Off Oyster Mondays and Half-Off Lobster Tuesdays at the new Santa Monica location right off PCH.

On Saturday, September 29, you can enjoy free admission to over 1,400 participating museums and cultural venues around the country thanks to Smithsonian Magazine who sponsors the annual freebie. Unfortunately, not every museum in the greater LA area is participating but consider this an opportunity to visit some of the lesser known, under-appreciated destinations that deserve your attention. Like MOLAA (love this place!), California Science Center (soon to be the home of the Space Shuttle Endeavour!) and the Grammy Museum at LA Live.
