Got art? Now you will. And it won’t cost you a thing. On Saturday, September 29, you can enjoy free admission to over 1,400 participating museums and cultural venues around the country thanks to Smithsonian Magazine who sponsors the annual freebie. Unfortunately, not every museum in the greater LA area is participating–whatever LACMA and MOCA–but consider this an opportunity to visit some of the lesser known, under-appreciated destinations that deserve your attention. Like the Autry National Center, MOLAA (Museum of Latin American Art … love this place!), California Science Center (soon to be the home of the Space Shuttle Endeavour!), Chinese American Museum, Fowler Museum at UCLA, Grammy Museum at LA Live and on and on.
So what do you have to do? Simply download free tickets on the Smithsonian website, which grants free admission for two people.
