Parlez-vous Francais? Don’t worry, mon cherie. Even if you don’t speak French there’s no translation required when it comes to music. So why not check out the Bootleg Theater on Saturday, February 11 when you can shake and shimmy all night long to the sounds of France without ever leaving LA … or breaking out the Rosetta Stone. Getting things started is JR Black, a guy who sings Johnny Cash songs in (you guessed it) French, followed by one of my personal faves, Paris Loves LA, fronted by the incredibly talented Adele Jacques who knows how to work an accordion like nobody’s business. As for le grand finale? That would be none other than faux-French indie band Nous Non Plus who will be serving up their own special blend of chi-chi-la-la pop from their latest full-length release “Freudian Slip.”
Consider it a French kiss to your ear. Okay, that sounds kinda gross. Let’s just say it’ll be a fun night filled with je ne sais quois, savoir faire and a whole lotta ooh la la.
Saturday, February 10, 9pm (doors open 8pm) @ Bootleg Theater, 2220 Beverly Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90057. Tickets in advance $10, at the door $12.
