Since chefs are the new rock stars, this is one tour stop that’ll be music to your mouth. On Thursday, October 20, the James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour hits LA at Chaya Brasserie for a one-night-only dining experience. Chef Harutaka Kishi will be joined by Iron Chef Marc Forgione (along with his brother Bryan and their father, Larry “Godfather of American Cuisine” Forgione) to create a five-course dinner–with wine or beer pairings, naturally–that aims to rock your world.
The four chefs will create a course focused on local ingredients and their own individual styles of cooking, all inspired by Chaya’s Euro-Asian cuisine that’s been a favorite for more than 27 years. Your night will start with tray-passed appetizers from each of the four culinary talents, a full-on dinner (including Kishi’s signature Hamachi Mole and special dessert) as well as wine or beer pairings with each course. A portion of the proceeds will go to the James Beard Foundation educational programs.
