Get your walk on for a great cause then grub down on free hot dogs from firemen while listening to a cop band? Yes, yes and yes! It seems like it’s been ages since I’ve heard about MADD, but Mothers Against Drunk Driving is still making serious strides in raising awareness about the horrible reality of accidents caused by those who drink and then get behind the wheel.

To raise much-needed funds, MADD (which serves a victim or survivor of drunk driving every nine minutes) is holding their annual 5K walk in 60 cities throughout the country and it’s taking place in Long Beach on Saturday, September 24. After the walk, participants will be treated to a live police band called “Blue Steel,” free hot dogs cooked by the Long Beach Fire Department and free kid activities.
