One of the happiest, peppiest, LA-est bands around, La Santa Cecilia mixes Latin culture, American rock and world music in a way that could’ve only been hatched here in the City of Angels. And now the Grammy-nominated group will rock the house (or should I say, museum) and answer your questions during A Musical Conversation with La Santa Cecilia + Paper Fashion with Patssi Valdez on Saturday, February 4 at the UCLA Fowler Museum. After the concert and Q&A you can also check out the crunch-and-fold workshop led by Chicano artist Patssi Valdez to create paper fashions inspired by her performance art of the 1970s. Music, art and a bunch of Mexicans? Doesn’t get more LA than that.
Saturday, February 4, 7pm @ Fowler Museum, UCLA, 308 Charles E. Young Drive North, Los Angeles, CA 90095. Tickets $15 or $10 for Fowler/Grammy Museum members and students. Reception includes dessert and cash bar.
