Look no further than the Silver Lake Art, Craft & Vintage, a hodgepodge of vendors selling this and that for those seeking a muuuuch more manageable alternative to the gigantic Rose Bowl flea market.

Named the “Best Indie Flea Market” by the LA Weekly, this Eastside mart takes place every second Saturday of the month at Micheltorena St. Elementary School. The next big sale is on Saturday, May 11, the day before Mother’s Day!

And speaking of Mother’s Day, the mart will have the Yarnover Truck (your local yarn store on wheels), perfect for old-school moms, hipster moms and grandmoms alike. (Because couldn’t we all use a little more needlepoint, knitting and crocheting in our lives?) Expect to find food trucks, more than 50 DIY crafters, tons of collectibles, art, crafts, vintage anything, books, power tools, melamine plates, garden stuff, jewelry and yes, lots of locals in fluorescent shades and shaggy haircuts. Oh, and don’t forget the free ping pong.
