We all know that Thursday has been the new Friday for years now, so there’s no reason to put off until Friday what you can absolutely do on Thursday. Enter the return of Twilight at the Club, a Thursday night party at Griffith Park where cool local bands play, drinks and food abound and people willingly dress up like Carlston from “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”
Put on by Ghettogloss, the Los Feliz-based art gallery and fabulous party thrower, Twilight at the Club is an all-ages shindig with just a little bit of everything for everyone. There’s the 80s golf comedy “Caddyshack” playing throughout the night, a full bar and menu + live music from Blonde Summer, a four-piece of brown-haired dudes, of course, and Black Crystal Wolf Kids, the world’s first indie-rock tribute band. (Check ‘em out in the photo above.) The driving range will be open, so feel free to sport your favorite golfing gear (pop that collar!) and take a picture in the golf photo booth. There’s also a Hole-in-One Contest with the winner walking away with a bottle of Absente Absinthe. (Yes, this one has wormwood.) The bands start at 9:30pm and the Clubhouse closes at midnight. Admission is free, just buy your own food and drinks. The only rule: You must be in the park by 10pm or you will not get in. Consider it Golf N Stuff and Castle Park with booze.
Every Thursday in May, 7:30pm-Midnight @ Wilson Harding Clubhouse, 4730 Crystal Springs Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90027. Free admission; no entry after 10pm.
