All I want for Christmas is world peace, respect & love for all living things and incredible music. Totally doable, right? One of the greatest parts of my job is that I get to dream up so many different scenarios and today I brought together some of the most incredible wild animals I’ve ever seen along with the most adorable baby farm animals and the best mariachi group in the world!
You may have heard of Heifer International and their famous Gift Catalog where people can choose a meaningful “gift” to give those in need. Those gifts include animals (sheep, cows, goats, llamas, etc.) that are donated to families all over the world. OMG I just loved the little lambs and llama but the calf took it to a whole other level. She was only three weeks old and kept kissing me as though she were a little puppy. Absolutely adorbs!
Speaking of animals, Kumba the Mandrill and Irwin the Kookaburra from Saving Wildlife International also stopped by. This was the first time I had ever seen a mandrill, which are part of the baboon family, up close. Wow! I have to admit he kind of scared me, especially with all the activity going on, but he was absolutely stunning and even smiled for the cameras.
Not to be outdone, Mariachi Vargas, performed a fantastic medley of holiday classics … in Santa hats, per my request! Considered the best mariachi group in the world, not to mention the most venerable (the group was founded in 1897!!!), these guys exemplify the true meaning of musicianship. And the icing on the cake was that I got to actually sing with them on air! AMAZE!!
Feliz Navidad, amigos!
