It’s whale watching season and Southern California whale watchers are getting to see migrating gray whales in record breaking numbers. Mar Yvette and crew are on Captain Dave’s Dolphin & Whale Watching Safari in Dana Point aboard the new 62-foot luxury power catamaran named Lily. In addition to dolphin and whale watching, Lily has been specially equipped to perform whale research and rescue. The new boat was named after an entangled gray whale, the same species we are seeing in record breaking numbers right now.
Captain Dave was involved in the disentanglement, as well as several others, and specially outfitted Lily to help rescue whales. Captain Dave’s Dolphin & Whale Watching Safari offers daily, year-round dolphin and whale watching trips from Dana Point aboard a hi-tech catamaran sailboat with underwater viewing pods as well as a webbed bottom so you can see the animals right beneath your feet (and experience a few splashes if you stand at the bow).
