I'm patting myself on the back for booking Pacific Mambo Orchestra on the show last week. This modern mambo 19-piece orchestra won the 2014 GRAMMY for Best Tropical Latin Album!!! Not only did they beat out such stellar artists as Marc Anthony, but they did it without a record label. (Just like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.) The fireworks hadn't been set off yet, but I had a BLAST with crazy Chef Eric Greenspan at The Roof on Wilshire this morning where he shared his tips on making the perfect ribs (hint: braise in beer for two hours, then use tamarind in your sauce) and amping up the all-American hot dog with pretzel bread and Kobe weenies.
