Sweet Art: Licorice Flix Opens
If you’ve got a craving for incredible edible art, look no further than the latest exhibit at the iam8bit Gallery in Echo Park. Created by mosaic portrait artist Jason Mecier, “Licorice Flix” is a collection of large-scale portraits made with everyone’s favorite movie theatre snack, Red Vines. Some of the famous characters you’ll see all twisted up in red and black: Dexter, Freddy Krueger, Charlie Chaplin, Harry Potter, Showgirls and a few surprises. Consider it your chance to recreate that wallpaper-licking scene from “Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.” Gallery is open Thursday through Sunday and admission is free. Sweet!
