Delta One: Delta first class flight

We Bought Delta One First-Class Tickets from LA to London — It Was Worth Every Penny

My husband and I are frequent flyers, but it’s not always the most comfortable experience. Not only am I a nervous flyer, but my husband is big and tall, which means long-haul flights can be a bit of an ordeal for us.

So when planning our big European adventure together, we decided to splurge on the 10.5-hour flight from Los Angeles to London.

At first, we paid about $4,300 for two Delta business-class tickets (aka Delta Premium Select). But then my husband realized the seats were only half an inch wider than economy (18.5 inches vs 18 inches) on the Airbus A330-900neo — with no moveable armrests! That’s when we upgraded to Delta One first-class, bringing our total to a bit over $7,000.

While we could’ve spent that extra money on meals or other experiences once we arrived in Europe, we felt it was worth every penny for the comfort it gave us getting there.
