Mosaic Art Show to Help Skid Row
Beautify your home and help those who need one at the third annual “Pieces of Hope” art sale on Sunday, June 5. The all-day event will be your chance to buy one-of-a-kind mosaic mirrors, frames, flower pots and home decor created by Piece by Piece artists who are either homeless or poverty-stricken residents of Skid Row and South LA. There’s also a Mosaic Workshop 12pm-3pm for $75 per adult, ($30 for youth) that includes all materials, instruction and a buffet lunch.
Piece by Piece’s innovative non-profit and micro-enterprise helps residents of Skid Row and other under-served communities of Los Angeles by teaching marketable skills to create high quality works of mosaic art. All workshops and materials, with an emphasis on recyclable materials, are provided free of charge and taught by professional artists, with proceeds from the sales given back to each participant to help subsidize their income.
