Holy Smokes: Cigar Night

Feel like a smoke? I’m certainly no advocate for lighting up, but the idea of hanging out with a few fine cigars, sipping on fine wine and enjoying a decadent five-course feast does have its appeal. And now you can indulge in that very thing every first Monday of the month starting March 7 at Santa Monica’s new 31Ten Lounge.

The menu will change monthly and to kick things off, the March dinner will be prepared by Ado Ristorante chef Antonio Mure.  If you want to look before you try, here’s the menu:

Starter — Watercress salad with Pecorino cheese, hearts of palm and roasted almonds in a balsamic dressing OR ahi tuna tartare served with avocado, capers and balsamic essence.

Second — Seared foie gras served with poached pears and a quail egg canape OR grilled scallops served on a bed of Parmesan cheese fondue.

Third — Homemade red beet tagliolini pasta in a marsala quail ragu served on a bed of taleggio cheese fondue OR homemade square spaghetti with fried Japanese eggplant and tomato sauce, topped with ricotta salad and basil pesto.

Fourth — Grilled Mediterranean sea bass served on a bed of braised Maui onions and Sicilian cucuzza finished with tomatoes OR Pan-seared filet mignon served with a barolo and truffle butter sauce.

Dessert — Tiramisu

Every first Monday of the month @ 31Ten Lounge in Santa Monica, 7pm. $100 per person + tax & tip. Reservations required.
