Princesses & Ghosts on the Queen Mary

Did you know that Princess Diana was the first Royal to auction off her clothes for charity? She also wasn’t afraid to wear the same gown twice … or thrice. LOVE that about her! About a month before she died, she auctioned off a number of her dresses and those same dresses are now aboard the Queen Mary. Along with the collection of dresses there are more than 2,000 pieces of memorabilia and personal accessories associated with the Royal Family including Diana’s handwritten hair appointment schedule. (Really cool to see.)

Throughout October, in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the exhibit has been expanded, making it the largest collection in the world. There’s even a telephone booth where you can pick up the phone and hear some of the messages Diana had left for her best friend. If you’re a Royal fan or just a history buff, the exhibit is HUGE and worth checking out. I also just enjoyed being aboard the ship and thinking about what it was like back when it actually traveled across the Atlantic with celebs like Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Clark Gable on board. (Not to mention all the ghosts that are said to haunt the Queen Mary – I was talking to one of the security guards and he said he actually saw the little girl ghost in the pool area -cray!) If those walls could talk!!!!
