Downtown’s Summer Beer Garden
Sake, skewers and Japanese whiskey. Oh, and don’t forget the beer. Summer is here and Chaya Downtown is once again celebrating with their Japanese Beer Garden on the spacious outdoor patio decked out with traditional red Japanese lanterns.
Every weeknight through the end of summer on Friday, September 2, the French-Japanese hot spot will be home to Kazuya Matsuoka’s special menu featuring $2 kushiyaki skewers that will be grilled to order on an authentic yakitori grill. (Think bacon dates, chicken, beef tongue, short rib, shrimp, shishito peppers and shitake mushrooms.) There’s also a housemade tofu sampler ($9), scallop miso gratin ($10), Japanese hot pot ($12), pork shabu shabu and soba salad ($9). To wash it all down, you can order $15 pitchers of Kirin as well as a variety of weekly-changing sake flights, single malt Japanese whiskies and hard-to-find Japanese craft beers like Ginga Kogen. Arigato!
Monday-Friday 4pm-close til September 2 @ Chaya Downtown, 525 S Flower St, Los Angeles, CA 90017
