Today I visited the Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center with the one & only Cesar Millan who showed us how to pick the perfect pet for our lifestyle! The Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center, a Cesar Millan Foundation “Shelter Star” is the first and only open-admission no-kill shelter in Ventura County, providing a model for other shelters, rescues and adoption programs throughout Southern California. Unlike other shelters, the vibe at SPARC is not sad — it’s very loving and calm and the people there are simply wonderful. They even play classical music for the animals! (And they don’t just have dogs, either. They have LOTS of cats and even a hen!) For the month of May you can choose your own adoption fee and find your own furry companion at the right price for your budget! Stop by anytime – it’s just a little over an hour drive outside of LA and they are always willing to work with you.
