Shake, Rattle & Roll at the Elvis Festival
Oh yes, we went there. I spent the morning with loads of crazy Elvii (that’s plural for Elvis) on Good Day LA leading up to an in-studio interview with Lisa Marie Presley!!! The 14th Annual Elvis Festival returned to the OC Marketplace in Costa Mesa, so naturally I headed to the biggest Elvis shrine in OC: Azteca Mexican Restaurant & Crooners Lounge, where owner JJ Jaregui has amassed 2,000+ pieces of Elvis memorabilia that are displayed all over the walls, ceiling and glass cases. It is truly an Elvis museum (where you can eat Mexican food and sing karaoke!) on historic Main Street in Garden Grove.
It was so much fun being reunited and introduced to some of the most fabulous, hilarious and dedicated Elvis tribute artists in town. Plus, I got to check out some very cool Cadillacs from the King of Caddies car show along with a few contestants from the Piled-High Priscilla and Elevated Elvis big hair contest. As my web director said, “Can’t believe this aired, then interview with Lisa Marie Presley aired. So funny!”
