Listen Up: Tuesdays in July
Tuesdays in July are all about music when Little Record Company and friends present a special residency at the Satellite in Silver Lake. Every week a different LRC artist will headline a night to showcase new album material and perform on other evenings with musical cohorts like Whispertown, Jake Bellows, Big Harp and Soft Pipes. (Think of it as the Elephant 6 collective for the 21st century.)
Headlining artists include LA-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Nik Freitas (you probably saw him opening for Bright Eyes or Rilo Kiley), 70s-ish soft rock duo Heidecker & Wood (ironic? not sure), singer and instrumentalist Mike Bloom (speaking of Rilo Kiley … he’s recorded with the band) and the low-fi folky Miracle Parade (aka Christopher Pappas).
