Bridal Guide to Beauty & Fitness

Getting married? Not to worry, girlfriend. As a new bride myself, I know how stressful it can get no matter how laidback and simple you want your wedding to be. But now that I’ve been through the experience (it was so wonderful I wish I could do it all over again!), I have some tips on the products, places and people that will help you look and feel your best on your big day!

Paleta –
Eat, drink and be married! One of the first things a bride (and groom) will think about when it comes to the wedding is getting in shape. Thankfully, Paleta organic meal delivery offers customized options delivered right to your home. You can do the Fit To Be Wed 30-Day program as well as a variety of pressed juice cleanses (so delish!), but we kept it simple with a four-day vegan meal plan leading up to the big day. It really made a difference in how we felt and looked.

The Better Chip –
As someone who is obsessed with corn chips, I didn’t want to give them up completely just because I was getting married. So I went on a search for a healthier alternative that still tasted great … and I found it in The Better Chip! These chips are made from non-GMO double corn masa and 40% fresh veggies ranging from beets and jalapeno to spinach & kale. These things are so good we included them in our wedding goodie bags and everyone loved them!

CorePower Yoga –
Once the wedding plans begin, it’s time to step up your workout game. How? CorePower Yoga. This program is amaze! What I love about CorePower Yoga is that it blends an intense physical workout rooted in the mindfulness of yoga and you can take your pick of classes at 100+ studio locations nationwide. I tried hot yoga for the first time and although it was a bit much for me, it was also pretty incredible. The bottom line: CorePower Yoga is a mindful form of fitness and that’s exactly what you need during a time that can be quite stressful.

Skinwave's treatment is just 15 minutes!
SkinWave –
Every bride wants to look her best. That’s why I was beyond thrilled to discover SkinWave’s 100% natural anti-aging skin tightening and wrinkle reduction treatment that uses acoustic wave therapy to promote better blood circulation and collagen production. The technology has been used in Europe for years, but it just arrived in the US and right now the only place you can get it done is at SkinWave Institute in Beverly Hills. During each 15-20 minute session, your face is massaged with an applicator that releases targeted sound waves to infiltrate skin tissues slowly. The key here is slowly – you won’t necessarily see immediate results (although it’s possible), so several weekly sessions are recommended. Natural treatments take time, so plan ahead. The best part: There are zero side effects and it can be used to treat cellulite as well. Treatments are $250 each with package discounts available.

Larchmont Sanctuary Spa –
We all know that stress is a killer of everything from your skin to your mood, so spare yourself the anxiety and reeeelax. Larchmont Sanctuary Spa in LA’s adorable Larchmont Village is just the place where you can leave your worries at the door and “disconnect to reconnect.” This lush and cozy eco-friendly “relationship spa” offers so many soothing options for couples including treatments that develop the art of conversation to deepen the bond between you and your partner. If you really want to get centered and feel better, this is a win-win. Treatments start at $85 for the Couples Champagne Bath For Two.

Xtreme Lashes
Gorgeous full lashes are a must for any bride. I mean, you want your eyes to pop in all your wedding photos, right? Since I didn’t want to deal with falsies or cake on the mascara, I decided to try extensions for the first time with Xtreme Lashes. These customized eyelashes look glam yet natural and there’s no need for mascara while you have them. (I wore a little on my lash ends for my wedding.) There are Xtreme lash stylists all over the country and they’ll even come directly to your home – so convenient! (I highly recommend Mila Grass in LA.) Service starts at $250 with $75 for fillers every 3-4 weeks.

Enamel Diction will give you a great mani/pedi + your colorstrology!
Enamel Diction –
Color astrology, what! We all know that a gorgeous mani (and pedi) is essential for the big day—after all, you’ll be showing off your new ring. But why not take it a step further and discover which colors can actually help you before and after you walk down the aisle? Enamel Diction is a one-of-a-kind nail studio in Los Angeles where you can book an appointment with celebrity color astrologer Rose Theodora who can do everything from a 15-minute reading + color analysis ($65 including full set) to color scope with 30-minute reading + full chart ($90 including full set). I was skeptical at first, but after my visit, not only did I leave with a beautiful gel mani and pedi, I also received some great advice and insight about which colors can benefit me in all aspects of life!

Jeffrey James –
I’m a huge believer in all-natural products that don’t use chemicals, toxins and preservatives, so naturally I’m obsessed with the Jeffrey James luxury organic skincare line. It works for every skin type and the eye creme ($39) is a dream – it brightens, lightens and refreshes without any sticky feeling. A little dab goes a long way and it will make your concealer go on sooo smoothly!

Caudalie –
This skincare line from France is all about ingredients from the vineyard like resveratrol, polyphenols and grape seed oil. My favorite product: Divine Body Divine Oil ($49). Like its name says, it smells absolutely divine and can be used on your face, hair and body. I love that it absorbs quickly and leaves a beautiful light sheen, not a greasy film.

Nars –
I’m always changing up my makeup routine, but for my wedding day I started with a Nars foundation ($43). I use the tinted moisturizer in St. Moritz because it matches perfectly to my skin tone and adds just a hint of color without feeling like anything is on my face. And don’t forget my orgasm …blush, that is. It’s no wonder it’s the brand’s most popular color – it really does give the perfect flush!

Just a few of my wedding makeup essentials
Cover FX –
I’ve yet to explore the full Cover FX brand, but I love that the products are free of the “inflammatory 5” — parabens, fragrance, gluten, mineral oil and talc. I’m already a fan of the Custom Cover Drops ($44), which are pigments that allow you to customize any product in your beauty regimen for extra coverage. I put a few drops in my Nars tinted moisturizer and it did the trick to cover up any discolorations and uneven skin tone.

Colorescience –
This brand is known for their Sunforgettable mineral sunscreen powders, but I can’t get enough of the SPF 35 lip shines ($29). Not only does this non-sticky lip gloss have the right amount of color, but it also protects lips from the sun’s harmful rays without any chemicals. Perfect for an outdoor summer wedding!

Beauty with a Twist –
To make sure my hair was soft and manageable before the big day, I started using Beauty With a Twist’s daily shampoo and conditioner ($18). All the products are made in California, vegan and free of parabens and sulfates. I also like the 2GTBT serum (too good to be true, get it?) that will soften and smooth your hair as well as your cuticles. Gotta love a multitasking product!

Knockout Panties –
When it comes to underthings, if you want to keep it sexy yet comfy, you have to try Knockout Panties. These 100% all-natural cotton panties feature liners that absorb everything, so you can enjoy your day without worry. They even come in “something new & blue” styles for the bride-to-be. Believe it or not, the briefs are quite fabulous. The extra belly coverage held me in just enough so I was comfortable underneath my wedding dress all day!

Love Luck Kisses & Cake –
OK, so it’s neither beauty or fitness related, but I have to give a shout-out this totally adorbs line of stationery & paper goods that mixes classic style with a fun dose of nostalgia. The wrapping paper and ribbons would be great for bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts and the thank-you notes are perfect for sending to all your guests after the big day.

Last Piece of Advice: Remember, your wedding day will be over before you know it, so allow yourself to pause and enjoy every moment, even the imperfections. That’s what will make it so memorable. As long as there is love, everything will be alright. Congratulations!
