Dolphin & Whale Safari in Dana Point
Did you know that Southern California has more blue whales and dolphins than anywhere else in the world??? I had no idea until I joined Captain Dave’s Dolphin and Whale Safari today in Dana Point. This year-round adventure is where you can get up close with these incredible creatures of the sea and see them in their NATURAL ENVIRONMENT. Just a couple miles from shore we were surrounded by a mega pod of dolphins (and eventually two whales). The dolphins were so playful, I just wanted to reach out and hug them. In fact, dolphins are the only wild animals who approach other species solely with the purpose of playing!! The catamaran sailboat we were on was really cool with an underwater “eye pod” where you can actually see the animals under the boat, as well as an open webbed floor at the bow so you can see the animals right beneath your feet (and reach out and touch them if they’re close enough). It was one of the best days on the job by far!!! I love these adorable, majestic, beautiful goodwill ambassadors of the sea!!
