Be good. Do good. Eat good. Drink good. Sound good? You’ve probably heard of GOOD Magazine, a socially progressive outlet that covers culture, design, food, and everything in between. Well, the mag is launching GOOD Local, an initiative to create active and real (not just virtual) communities around the country and LA is part of the inaugural festivities.
The party starts on Friday, April 8 and everyone’s invited! The free three-day event includes urban adventures, DIY workshops, a pop-up community center (you can swap clothes, donate goods, even bring your old Toms shoes and help local artists recycle them into an art project), hack-a-thons, civic engagements, literary readings, film screenings, book club meetings (including one on the 7th Street overpass above the 110 freeway!), neighborhood walks, locally-made goods, and oh yes, cocktails. It’s all going down at Atwater Crossing, a new creative space in Atwater Village. The weekend is free, but you must RSVP as some events will fill up.
