Martial Arts Paddle Boarding and Parasailing
I’m not exactly a water adventure person, but even I couldn’t resist the chance to Visit Marina del Rey and find out what activities await us (for not a lot of money). Phins Water Sports Club is a really fun spot and sort of like a gym on the water. They have Paddle Board Martial Arts, the only workout of its kind in the entire world (lessons are just $20 a class) as well as sculling rowing boat rentals (the same style used by the Olympic rowing teams). These state-of-the-art boats feature sliding seats, which means a major workout that uses all of your major muscle groups with little or no impact. I tried it and really enjoyed it (although I was sore the next day). On the other side of the marina near Fisherman’s Village is Marina Del Rey Parasailing. OMG it was my first time ever doing this and I absolutely LOVED it!!! It’s so awesome and exciting and peaceful. The great thing is that you can enjoy this unforgettable water adventure without ever getting wet! That’s because there is a dry takeoff and landing platform right on the boat! (But you can get splashy with a toe dip if you want.) The price is $75 per person with other packages available at higher rates. The best part is, these aren’t just summer activities. Here in LA we can enjoy these adventures seven days a week, all year long!!!
