Wildlife Learning Center
Foxes, porcupines and monkeys, oh my! I had so much fun getting to know my new wild friends at the Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar. I didn’t realize just how cute and zen porcupines are (or that they are part of the rodent family ) or that fennec foxes are the smallest of the species, weighing just about 4 pounds each. I also learned that the squirrel monkey (like many monkeys) do what is called a urine wash -they pee in their hands and rub it all over themselves! Just one reason why this wild animal SHOULD NOT be owned as a pet. And let’s not forget the two-toed sloth –the slowest animal on the planet. I highly rec you check this place out — it’s open 7 days a week and located just 30 minutes from Downtown LA!
