Brazilian Carnaval Exotica
If you weren’t able to make it to Rio de Janeiro for the big parade and celebration, Brazilian Carnaval Exotica here in LA is the closest you can get to the real thing. Now in its 13th year, the all-night, all-ages party happens Saturday, March 2 at Club Nokia with non-stop Brazilian music, samba dancers, capoeira martial arts, a 100-drummer participatory drum circle, and plenty of Brazilian food and caipirinhas! I was at the Remo percussion center in NoHo, one of the event sponsors, for a preview of the festivities. And yes, Dr. 90210 himself was there (or as I now call him, Dr. Cray). He is completely OUT OF CONTROL and HILARIOUSLY inappropriate! (02/27/2013)
