FOX GIVES: Going Green is Fun!
Who says it’s not easy being green? I was at the Fox Movie Studios where an “Energy Playground” was created to celebrate, learn and explore ways to protect our planet. It was all put on by Fox Gives, the philanthropic branch of Fox, and Global Inheritance, a non-profit aimed to inspire activism. I had a chance to try a few things including getting on a human hamster wheel (a first for me!) and solar-generated seesaws (loved!) to energy swing sets and a zero-emission snow cone machine and DJ booth. I really loved that everything on this playground was completely powered by people playing and having fun.
I also did a little test drive of the new three-wheeled Elio Motors vehicle. It’s totally bizarre looking, but that’s kinda why I like it. It’s made in America, seats two, has a reinforced roll-cage frame, goes up to 108 mph, gets 84 mpg and costs only $6,800!!! Plus, it registers as a motorcycle, so you can use the HOV lane (and you don’t need a motorcycle license). My fiance and I are seriously considering getting the Elio when it hits the market January 2015 … maybe in Marpop pink! What do YOU think?!
