Komida’s 12 Tacos of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me … a taco with roasted turkey?? That’s right, baby. Forget the partridge and a pear tree. Putting a fun twist on holiday eating, Komida restaurant is kicking off the “12 Tacos Of Christmas” on Thursday, December 8 and will continue the tasty ode every week until Friday, December 23. The creation of chef Brock Kleweno (you know him from Yamashiro and you know his tacos from Yamashiro’s wildly popular Thursday farmers’ market), the tacos will be served at the just-opened Komida digs in the old HWood space at Hollywood & Highland. If you’ve ever wanted a green bean casserole rolled up in a tortilla or secretly wondered what a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer taco might taste like, consider your foodie wishlist fulfilled.

12 TACOS OF CHRISTMAS:

1.  DEC 8 – Roast turkey with pinot noir & five-spice cranberry sauce

2.  DEC 9 – Brioche stuffing with Kleweno family farm sausage

3.  DEC 12 – Grandma’s green bean casserole (haricot vert, roast garlic bechamel, crispy shallots)

4.  DEC 13 – Spiced sweet potato with bruleed homemade marshmallow

5.  DEC 14 – Agave-glazed ham with blood orange and pineapple salsa

6.  DEC 15 – Caramelized onion, Yukon gold smashed potato with lumpy gravy

7.  DEC 16 – Smoked Gouda mac & cheese with buttered bacon breadcrumbs

8.  DEC 19 – Shiitake scalloped potato with Graftion cheddar crisps

9.  DEC 20 – Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (grilled venison loin with ginger cherry salsa)

10.  DEC 21 – Fruit Cake with fig pudding sauce

11.  DEC 22 – Gingerbread cookie with yuzu icing

12.  DEC 23 – Pastrami and sauerkraut with Asian 1000 island and rye seed tortillas (a Reuben sandwich for Hanukkah)
