Fooling Around with LeVar Burton & Playmate of the Year!
“Butterfly in the sky, I can fly twice as high…” Remember those lyrics from Reading Rainbow??? So do I!!! And I sang them today with Kunta Kinte aka Geordi from Star Trek aka LeVar Burton himself!!! It was the LeVar & Mar show! He’s launching a contest to sing your own duet & make a video via Smule’s Sing Karaoke app, so give it a shot! I also spent the morning with Burt the Bear and Raquel Pomplun, Playboy Magazine’s 2013 Playmate of the Year who was promoting the California Beer Festival in San Dimas. (She’s the first Mexican-American to win that title, so… #sisepuede?). To close out the show, I had UCLA’s fab acapalla group The Scattertones perform to preview the big ABBA Fest at the Hollywood Bowl. They’ll be competing against USC and Chapman University, so it should be a fun night of SoCal meets Sweden action. Enjoy your weekend!
